Black Gold Project Area: Parcel Recording Correction

The Utah Inland Port Authority identified an incorrect parcel list in the Black Gold project area amendment approved by its board in October. As a result, the recorded documents were associated with some properties that were not intended to be included in the amendment.

Property owners enrolled in Duchesne County’s Property Watch service may have received an automated alert about this recording.

This was UIPA’s error. We apologize for the confusion and concern it has caused property owners and the additional work for county and city staff. We are working quickly to correct the records and strengthen our review process to prevent this from happening again.

UIPA is preparing corrected documents for consideration at its November board meeting. Once the corrected resolution is approved and recorded, the Duchesne County Recorder’s Office will remove the incorrect parcel associations from its parcel index.

Project area designation itself does not increase your property taxes, change your zoning, transfer ownership or require you to develop your property.

If you have questions, please reach out to Lori Haslem at [email protected] or 435.828.0965.

We will update this page when the correction is complete.
